Board policies establish governance, operational guidelines, and legal compliance for our ESC. These policies are developed to maintain safe, non-discriminatory environments.

Key Aspects of ESC Board Policy:

  • Governance and Operation: Policies define the general goals and operational procedures of the district, often developed with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA).
  • Compliance: Policies ensure adherence to federal and state laws, including anti-harassment policies covering race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Policies guide the fiscal processes of the ESC.
  • Personnel Rules: Policies address drug-free workplaces, criminal record checks, staff conduct, conflict of interest, benefits and health, and Family and Medical Leave (FML).
  • Student and Staff Protection: Safety policies regarding school security, anti-discrimination, prohibit sexual harassment, inappropriate behavior, and retaliation against individuals exercising their rights.
