What is Stop the Bleed Training?
Minutes count! Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. That's why bleeding control - keeping the blood inside the body - is the purpose of the STOP THE BLEED training.
Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principals so they are able to provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders are able to take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths will occurs.
Contact Barbie Ferrell, Director of Nursing Services (bferrell@medinaesc.org) or Alecia Highsmith (ahighsmith@medinaesc.org) for more information or to schedule training for your district.
