Alternative Education Options

    Alternative High School

The Alternative High School Program represents a partnership between the ESC of Medina County and our customer districts. The program is designed for high school or middle school students. Our classroom is located at 275 Center Street, Seville. The majority of the academic curriculum is provided online and students have the opportunity to excel and work on their own and to receive individualized instruction in the classroom from an experienced, certified staff of life-long teachers. Students can access the courses during regular school hours or 24-7 from home or anywhere with internet access.

    ESC SITE Program

The ESC SITE Program is a unique transition program that incorporates an independent living, life skills, and employment curriculum within both the classroom setting and in the community. Hands-on, direct training in the classroom and community are the building blocks of the SITE Program.

With differentiated instruction, the ESC SITE Program can support each student's specific needs while giving students a chance to take learned skills and generalize them within their communities.

    Home Schooling

Home education is when the parent takes the responsibility of educating his/her child. Notification for homeschooling is required each school year that the child is home educated. The rule governing homeschooling is Ohio Revised Code 3321.042, Excuses From Compulsory Attendance for Home Education.

    RISE Academy

An alternative to the traditional public school setting for students who require a small, therapeutic setting in order to access their education. RISE Academy utilizes the principals of applied behavior analysis through a trauma-informed lens to meet the unique needs of each of our students.

Summer School / Online Anytime School Program

Students wishing to accelerate graduation or those looking to recover lost credits may participate and benefit through our Summer School / Online Anytime School. These programs allows students to pursue classes and credits toward their diplomas from their homes 24/7. The Internet learning experience provides student with virtually unlimited access to information and ideas, while the certified staff assists students in the learning process. More information.

Early Learners will build on skills learned during the school year with a focus on functional communication and social-emotional skills through play.

Our School-Aged students work on specific social skills and self-regulation strategies each week that tie into our weekly themes and activities in a small group setting.
